This recipe creates a sugar-dusted, cinnamon-scented twist on the classic French pastry. These fluffy and soft palmiers are easy to make and will melt in your mouth

The “dessert person cinnamon sugar palmiers” is a dessert that has been around for a while. It is made with cinnamon, sugar and butter.

Puff pastry makes Sugar Palmiers with Cinnamon simple to create! These “elephant ears,” dusted with cinnamon sugar and baked to flaky perfection, make any morning better.

Cinnamon Sugar Elephant Ears

Have you ever tried a dessert called “elephant ear”?

Puff pastry is wrapped into a spiral with cinnamon sugar and baked to make Cinnamon Palmiers, also known as “Elephant Ears.” The name stems from the form of the palmier: this meal looks EXACTLY like an elephant’s enormous ear!

What do I require?

I purchase frozen puff pastry sheets and put them in the fridge to defrost. It’s very easy and handy!

What is the best way to create Elephant Ears out of puff pastry?

This dish takes just a few minutes to prepare.

STEP 1: Prepare the pastry dough by rolling it out.

I dust the surface with cinnamon sugar before carefully unrolling the dough into a rectangle on top.

STEP 2: Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

To guarantee that every mouthful is full of delightful cinnamon flavor, spread it all the way to the edges.

STEP 3: Roll out the dough and refrigerate.

Roll one of the rectangle’s longer sides in toward the center. Come to a halt in the middle of the dough. To make two spiral logs, repeat the process on the opposite side. Refrigerate the rolled dough for approximately 1 hour after wrapping it in plastic wrap.

STEP 4: Bake it!

Bake for 12–15 minutes after cutting the refrigerated dough into pieces. Halfway through the baking time, rotate the Baking Tray to ensure that the cinnamon palmiers bake evenly.

While they are baking, your kitchen will smell amazing! And I swear the palmiers taste much better as they smell.

Is it possible to prepare this recipe using handmade pastry dough?

I have never made my own Dough for puff pastry from scratch for this recipe. If you have a go-to recipe you love, I’m sure it would work well here. Give it a try and let me know!

I’ll make puff pastry from scratch once in a while, but frozen puff pastry is so handy that I don’t believe I’ll ever give it up!

A sweet palmier filling is a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, and butter that is spread onto a dough. The dough is then rolled out into thin sheets and cut into small squares. These are then filled with the desired ingredients such as jam or chocolate. Reference: sweet palmier fillings.
