A circus animal cookie is a treat that looks like an ordinary Rice Krispie Treat, but it has been shaped into the face of a different type of animal. It’s usually made with oatmeal or semolina and chocolate chips for fun. The ingredients are mixed together in one bowl and then formed into shapes before being baked to perfection! This recipe makes enough cookies for about 8-10 servings
Animal cookie desserts are a great treat for anyone with a sweet tooth. This recipe is simple and easy to make, and the ingredients are cheap.
Rice Krispie Treats with an additional splash of color are called Circus Animal Rice Krispie Treats. Embedded within and on top of chewy rice cereal bites are little bits of frosted animal cookies. These snacks are ideal for children and those who are still children at heart since they include a beloved kid cookie, marshmallow mixture, rainbow sprinkles, and a pink sugar drizzle.

Today I’m merging two dessert favorites from my youth, circus cookies and rice krispies, into one simple dish. This family-friendly dessert is perfect if you enjoy the flavor of the traditional foods but want to prepare something with a bit extra flair.
- Folded within were crushed cookies.
- Sprinkles of holiday nonpareils!
- A nice finishing touch would be a pink and white drizzle.
- simple no-bake recipe
At your next birthday celebration or bake sale, how great would they look on the dessert table? Absolutely cute
What am I lacking?
The recognizable components of the traditional rice krispie treat recipe are there, along with a few modifications, in Circus Animal Rice Krispie Treats. You’ll need the following.
- If you’ve never heard of circus animal cookies, they’re just animal crackers covered in white chocolate and sprinkles!
- Make sure the marshmallows are fresh.
- Use a generic brand of popped rice cereal instead of Rice Krispies.
- I advise using unsalted butter in this dish.
- The tiny, circular sprinkles are called rainbow nonpareils.
- To melt and drizzle over the bars are white chocolate chips.
- If you’d rather have your white chocolate plain, you may omit the food dye that is red.
Why can’t I create them?
One of the simplest circus animal cookie desserts to prepare is this.
Create cookie crumbs in step one.
In a food processor, pulse the circus animal cookies a few times. Crumbs and bigger cookie chunks ought to be among what’s left.
Rice Krispie Treats, step two.
Now combine your tablespoons of butter and marshmallows in a stovetop saucepan. Until they are well blended, stir often. Crushed cookies, cereal, and a little amount of sprinkles should all be added to the saucepan. Blend well. In a baking dish that has been buttered, gently press the Rice Krispie mixture.
In the microwave, melt your white chocolate chips. Fill a ziploc bag with half of the melted chocolate. To make the leftover chocolate pink, add a few drops of food coloring!
Then put the pink chocolate in a different bag. Slice a corner off of each bag, then sprinkle the rice krispie treats with the melted chocolate. Sprinkle the leftover nonpareils right away.
Slice, serve, and enjoy the chocolate when it has set.
How should Rice Krispie Treats be stored?
These dessert treats shaped like circus animals, like other Rice Krispie Treats, should be kept at room temperature in an airtight container.
I do not suggest freezing or cooling them. Fast-hardening cold crispy rice snacks lose their ideal chewy texture when frozen.
Tips & Tricks
- Cook with nonstick utensils! It is considerably simpler to combine the goodies in a nonstick saucepan and to clean up afterwards. I use a sauce pan from Anolon, which I previously reviewed.
- Not too strong of a push. The completed bars will taste denser and firmer the harder you press the goodies into the pan.
- Apply baking spray liberally! By nature, Rice Krispie Treats are STICKY. If you don’t want to spend your day scraping sticky sweets from a pan, don’t forget to complete this important step.

Equipment
-
weighing scales
-
spoons for measuring
-
Blender or food processor
-
9 x 13-inch baking pan
-
a big nonstick pot
-
rubber spatula
-
sandwich bags, two
-
scissors
-
two little mixing bowls
Ingredients
- Circus Animal Cookies, 9 ounces
- 1 kilogram of small marshmallows
- 6 cups of cereal Rice Krispies
- Unsalted butter, 4 tablespoons
- split into 3 tablespoons, multicolored nonpareils
- 3 teaspoons of sprinkles, split into colors
- White chocolate chips, half a cup
- food dye that is red
Instructions
-
Prepare a 9 x 13-inch baking pan by spraying it with cooking spray.
-
Put all of the circus cookies in a food processor, and pulse it three to four times, just until the cookies are in tiny bits and crumbs. To sprinkle on top, save 1/2 cup of the cookie pieces.
-
Melt the butter and marshmallows in a big saucepan over low heat, stirring often.
-
Get rid of the heat. Rice Krispies, broken cookies, 1 tablespoon of nonpareils, and 1 tablespoon of sprinkles should all be added to the saucepan. Combine well after mixing. Add 1 tablespoon each of the nonpareils and the sprinkles before recombining.
-
With a rubber spatula, transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and smooth it out evenly.
-
On top, scatter the leftover cookie crumbs.
-
Place 1/4 cup of white chocolate chips in each of two small dishes. 30 seconds in the microwave. Stir until chocolate is creamy and smooth and chips are melted.
-
Put the contents of one bowl in a sandwich bag with a zipper closure. Drizzle the Rice Krispie treats with a little piece of one of the cut corners.
-
Put in a very tiny amount food dye that is red into the other bowl of melted white chocolate and stir. Add more food coloring until desired hue of pink is achieved. Do not add too much at first (as I did) because it will turn red and there’s no turning back at that point. If you find that the chocolate is becoming too thick to stir, add 1/2 teaspoon of the heavy cream and stir until smooth. You will not need to reheat.
-
Cut a little corner off of the pink chocolate bag, put it in a zipper-top bag, and sprinkle the pink chocolate in the opposite way as the white chocolate.
-
Add the last spoonful of sprinkles and nonpareils.
-
until set, let cool.
